How to Convert a Decimal to a Percentage

Converting decimals to percentages is useful in mathematics, statistics, finance, and everyday calculations.

Decimal to Percentage Formula

Multiply the decimal by 100:

Percentage = Decimal × 100

For example:

0.25 × 100 = 25%

Therefore:

0.25 = 25%

More Examples

0.5 = 50%

0.75 = 75%

0.10 = 10%

0.01 = 1%

1.25 = 125%

Notice that percentages can exceed 100%. A decimal greater than 1 will produce a percentage greater than 100.
