Hijri & Gregorian Age Calculator

Enter your birth date in whichever calendar you prefer, and get your age in years, months and days in both the Hijri and Gregorian calendars at the same time.

Which calendar is the birth date in?

How does the dual-calendar age calculator work?

This tool calculates your age in both the Hijri and Gregorian calendars at the same time, from a single birth date entered in whichever calendar you prefer. The conversion between calendars relies on a dedicated API, with a local in-browser fallback if it cannot be reached.

Because a Hijri year is about 11 days shorter than a Gregorian one, your Hijri age is numerically slightly higher than your Gregorian age, even though both describe the same actual span of time.

Why do the two numbers differ for the same person?

Hijri yearGregorian year
Approximate length354 days365 or 366 days
Years elapsed at Gregorian age 30~31 Hijri years30 Gregorian years

The gap grows by roughly one extra Hijri year every 33 Gregorian years — a natural result of the two calendars' different year lengths, not a calculation error.

How accurate is the result?

A margin of one or two days on the converted Hijri birth date If you enter your birth date in the Gregorian calendar, the corresponding Hijri date is an approximation and may differ by a day or two from official records, if any exist, due to differing methods of determining the start of a lunar month.

Frequently asked questions

Which is "more correct" — my Hijri age or Gregorian age?

Both are correct; the difference is only in the counting system. Your age in actual elapsed time is one single span, but the number of "years" differs because a Hijri year is not the same length as a Gregorian year.

Can I enter my birth date directly in Hijri?

Yes, choose "Hijri" from the input calendar options and select the Hijri day, month and year directly.

Why is there a small difference between my own calculation and the tool's?

A one- or two-day difference is normal and comes from the Hijri conversion being an approximation rather than always being based on actual moon sighting.

Is my data stored?

No, the calculation happens in your browser via a date-conversion request that carries no identifying information about you, and no personal data is stored.
