    How does the stopwatch work?

A precise digital stopwatch that runs entirely inside your browser, showing elapsed time in hours, minutes, seconds and milliseconds. Click "Start" to begin timing, "Pause" to freeze it, and "Resume" to pick up right where you left off.

You can also record "laps" while it's running — useful for tracking split times like each lap of a run or each stage of a timed task, without stopping the main timer.

    Common uses

    • Sport and exercise: timing a run, a swim, or interval training.
    • Cooking: tracking multiple stages within a single recipe by recording a lap per stage.
    • Meetings and presentations: measuring actual time spent on each agenda item.
    • Study and focused work: tracking actual time spent on a task.

    How accurate is the timer?

The tool relies on the browser's high-precision internal clock, updating roughly ten times per second — accurate enough for most everyday and casual sporting uses.

    Frequently asked questions

Does the timer keep running if I close the tab or navigate away?

No, the timer stops if the tab is closed or the page is reloaded. Keep the page open while using it.

How many laps can I record?

There's no practical limit; you can record any number of laps while the timer is running.

Can I see the time between each lap and the next?

Yes, the list shows each lap's own time (the split) as well as the cumulative total time when it was recorded.

Are the times I record stored anywhere?

No, everything stays inside your browser and is cleared on page reload or when you press "Reset".
